Guide to Acura Maintenance Codes

Acura Service Technician Header

Maintenance schedules and your owner’s manuals are important resources when it comes to maintaining your Acura vehicle in tip-top shape. But life gets busy sometimes, and you forget which service task is due. In those instances, you’re especially glad that you drive an Acura because they have a built-in system, known as the Acura maintenance minder. This system uses codes to alert you when maintenance is due or if there’s an issue that needs your attention. “So what are the Acura maintenance codes?” you may be asking. Find out below as DCH Montclair Acura tells you all about Acura minder codes!

Acura Minder Codes: Engine Oil Life Indicator

On the driver information interface, you can see the remaining engine oil life and maintenance service items. These maintenance items should be serviced at the same time when you replace engine oil for your Acura vehicle. The displayed percentage is the remaining engine oil life, and it is calculated based on the engine operating conditions.

So how do you see the remaining engine oil life percentage? You can view them on the engine oil life screen when you…

  1. Set the power mode to ON
  2. Press the right selector wheel until the content is displayed
  3. Roll the right selector wheel until the maintenance screen is displayed

There, you will see a maintenance message telling you if maintenance is due soon, due now, or past due. When you see these messages, you should bring your car to a service center near Montclair.

What Are the Acura Maintenance Codes?

Besides the oil life indicator, you will also see a letter and sometimes a number on your interface. These are “Main Codes” and “Sub Codes.” A Main Code is displayed when your vehicle is due for service near Clifton. If there are more details you should be aware of for the maintenance due, a Sub Code will be displayed as well.
